If everyone is thinking alike then someone isn’t thinking. With those words we ought to be encouraged to think more, to do more, to be more.’
I once spoke those words to a crowd of nearly 400 people to close one of the first, of hopefully many, speeches I’ve given. It was June 6, 2009 around 10:30 a.m. and all I wanted to do was end four years of torture with a little inspiration to what I felt awaited my classmates and I.
I’ve been thinking lately about that quote and my initial analyzation of it and how I haven’t been thinking more sharply enough, doing more expressively enough, or being more unapologetically enough!
I plan on using this blog as a platform to begin the process of being. I am going to work on involving myself in life as it’s happening in front of me. I don’t care about being PC anymore. I am going to be real. I am going to be raw. I am going to be the purest version of myself and hope that it encourages someone else to do the same.
I’m taking off my mask and showing the world who I really am and I’m scared as hell, but why not?
